1981 was the year when chairs went from being merely a support for the figure to a feature in many of my drawings. Unique and detailed chairs for open drawing life models at George Washington University and moving into a fully furnished group house near Cleveland Park in Washington DC provided me with ample inspiration for some of my favorite early drawings.
